![]() ![]() Sam got married at the end because he found true love. So when he had to leave at the end, he was obviously very, very upset. They fought and defeated evil and Sam had risked everything to stop Frodo from going off the deep end for the Ring. Do you know how much they had gone though? Sam and Frodo share a bond almost as big as love, FRIENDSHIP. there’s all kind of close love that doesn’t have to be sexual but can be as intense.įrodo and sam are so obviously gay, how can anyone disagree? sam only got married to cover up his true feelings for frodo after he left! Perhaps they are two “people” who just love eachother lots. Yes I am Gay, couldn't you tell by the surname? ![]() In short, Sam is a straight horny ass hobbit and Frodo is a Flaming homosexual.Īnd his mouth tasted just like buttermilk Sam always gets weirded out and changes the subject quick. As they go on their trip Sam always gives Frodo encouraging advice then Frodo starts talking and always trows some sexual inuendo at Sam. Then Gandolf trusts him to hold the ring, because he knows Frodo is just a big homo and won't want power or anything, just a pretty ring. In the first movie Sam wants to go talk to a girl and Frodo gives him advice on how to go over, first sign of his gayness. See Frodo is a flaming homosexual, poor Sam is just along for the ride. They are MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA MEGA GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they're as GAY AS HELL COULD MAKE THEM!!!! I think the film makers were trying to point out the gay-ness, otherwise they would have skirted around the whole issue! Hmmm, I don't think hobbits do… How often did you see Merry confide in Pippin about his sexual inadequacies (you can just tell), or Frodo ask Sam to give him a face mask, paint his nails and watch A Knight's Tale with him (classic girly night in behaviour)? Huh? Huh?! Guys don't have the same closeness with friends as girls do… Especially not Hobbits… Plus there was no mention of sex and the city or designer labels or anything and i never noticed either one checking their reflection/hair in a puddle/the back of a cd/anything shiny, so clearly they are nothing like my mate barry the epitome of gayness, and therefore are not gay. If they were girls would you think they were lesbians or just really nice good friends? However, I have discovered indisputable proof on this matter, check it out here: link This is an interesting question that has baffled literary critics for over a generation. I think it's more about love between them, than sexuality. I think it's worse in the film because you can actually see their facial expressions towards each other, whereas you have to use your own imagination with the book, and you might not imagine them to be gay. I don't think they were originally intended to be gay, but Tolkien doesn't do a good job of trying to back this up. I could have sworn they were going to snog on the dock at the end of Return of the King! Tolkein denied this though, but he was a smug twatty male chauvinist English teacher, so who really cares what he said anyway Oh, and Thomas: its a parable of the SECOND world war. Needless to say, we didn't make it passed half way through Two Towers, due in equal parts to alcohol and boredom. Use of the word "Mordorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"ĭown your drink on "They have a cave troll" One of the conditions for drinking was "a gay look between frodo and sam" Me and some mates watched the first 2 back to back as a drinking game last year. This is total and utter codswallop! It is a parable of the first world war, Tolkein was pot addict, its got big flaming eyes, and norweign kings, why would sam and frodo be gay? Sam is in fact, a one man army of awesomeness. There are several “Sam and Frodo being gay” videos on YouTube, the one below being one of the nicest ones.Frodo could well be gay, but Sam just appeases him in order to stop him getting depressed. The queering of Lord of the Rings has been discussed and written about quite widely, for example in this movie themed blog, and it has been fueled by vivid writing of fan fiction. Especially Sam can be seen either as touchingly loyal to Frodo or desperately in love with him. Even as a straight teenager, oblivious to things queer, I noticed there was something different about Sam and Frodo’s relationship. ![]() I know I’m not the first person to come up with this, but I think the main character Frodo Baggins and his servant/helper Samwise Gamgee can definitely be read queer. So, last weekend I started watching The Fellowship of the Ring, again, and it came to me: this was the queer cultural artifact I’d been looking for. Those films were a huge deal for me in my late teens and I like going back to those affects still, more than ten years later. Those movies include The Lord of The Rings trilogy, that I must’ve seen at least a dozen times. There are some movies that I watch regularly at least once a year. ![]()
