I saw a few spots on the floor in the hallway to my room but the floors were vacuumed or swept daily. This hotel had lots af families and I did feel safe, you must use your room key in order for the elevator to work, I did not go out at night so no comments on the night life, a huge Marriott and Courtyard hotel is right around the corner, I took training classes at the Marriott for 5 days, the hotel is beautiful but too big and busy for me, my classmates said they like my room more, yes I would recommend this hotel. You are also about 3 blocks from a huge Macy's store. Ok on to more food, the Reading Market, got a foot long Philly cheesesteak it cost abou$11 but I ate off it 3 times, I got cookies from 4th street cookies they were $2 each but really worth it, I got ice cream from Bassetts Icream it was delicious, and the best spot was a soul food station called Parker soul food, it's right across from the ice cream store, well that soul food spot did NOT disappoint it was DELICIOUS the fried chicken was cooked perfect, the macaroni and cheese was delicious and the yams were so sweet and delicious, they also had greens, fried cabbage, baked turkey wings rice with gravey and some other items that looked great, you must check this restaurant out. Took the Bigbus 90 minute tour it was really nice and interesting, you board 1/2 block from hotel. Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls Store and CVS Pharmacy are all about 4 blocks away, Centrury 21 clothing store, Ross Clothing, Rite Aid are about 7-8 blocks away, then on to the Liberty Bell exhibit, about 12 blocks away, it was free when I went in some classmates told me they thought they had to pay to get in. I did see the parking garage next door but did not use, Panera bread and Burger Fi are located on the first floor of the building, I ate at both several time with no issues, Maggiano's Italian restaurant is right around the corner and it's delicious, there's a 7-11 store a few doors down from Maggiano's so I went there for water soda chips etc, they do sell alot of other things you need while traveling. IHome docking station with a 43-47 inch tv. ![]() Plenty of lights throughout the room, full size mirror and easy to control air conditioner unit. Home2 Sutes are about a 15 minutes cab ride from the airport cost me $32 by myself once I got here I did not need a car at all, so yes you see homeless people when you arrive but they were ok, lobby area has a nice new retro look the hotel is a little larger than it looks but not huge, my room was a newly decorated queen suite with a love seat, ottoman, desk with chair and table that's on wheels, with dark wooden closet area and kitchen with the matching wood grain, full slim refrigerator with bottom freezer up top microwave and full dishwasher, individual coffee machine in room, nice drawer space. ![]() Was so glad to get to a Marriott on our next stop. The hallway carpets have dark paths of dirt-makes you wonder about everything else. We stayed here a few years ago when it was new and it was very nice, but now it is becoming run down. The CHARGE WAS ON OUR HOTEL BILL! They advertise the service and then disown the responsibility. The front desk and manager refused to help saying we needed to take it up with the garage. My husband paid another $32 to get out of the ramp so we could leave. The only problem is that the card does not work when you want to depart. We choose to use their 43.00 parking service so we could go in and out. The place is cheap for downtown Philly and it is packed with families. We had to take everything off the bed and remake it so we could sleep. ![]() The top sheet was tucked so it barely came half way up the bed. No fitted sheet and housekeeping did not know how to make a bed. The room is average-okay, but bedding is horrible. ![]()
